FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
Where is Evolved Ink located?
Evolved Ink is located in the heart of Geelong at Level 1, 64 Little Malop Street, Geelong VIC. Our studio is clean, welcoming and home to experienced tattoo artists specialising in a range of tattoo styles.
How do I book a tattoo?
Booking is easy. Simply complete the booking form on our website or contact us through Instagram or Facebook. Include your idea, preferred size, placement, reference images and your availability. We'll match you with the artist best suited to your tattoo.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
Yes. A deposit is required to secure all tattoo appointments. Deposits are deducted from the final cost of your tattoo but are non-refundable if you cancel or don't provide enough notice to reschedule.
How much does a tattoo cost?
Every tattoo is different, so pricing depends on the size, detail, placement and the time required to complete it.
Tattoo prices can vary greatly between artists and studios. While one artist may charge much less than another for a similar tattoo, the difference often comes down to experience, efficiency and the quality of the finished result.
At Evolved Ink, we sit in the middle to upper end of the market. Our experienced artists work efficiently without compromising quality, often completing in one session what a less experienced artist may take two sessions to finish. That means you're paying for years of experience, not just time.
We also have talented apprentice artists who charge lower rates while building their experience. Every apprentice is supported by our senior artists throughout the design and tattooing process. Although apprentices may take longer, our goal is the same for every client—to leave with a tattoo you'll be proud to wear for life.
The cheapest tattoo isn't always the best value. When choosing an artist, consider the quality, experience and craftsmanship behind the work, not just the price.
Do you offer free consultations?
Absolutely. We offer free consultations so you can discuss your ideas, ask questions and work with your artist to create the perfect design before your appointment.

Can I bring my own tattoo design?
Absolutely. You're welcome to bring reference images or your own artwork. Our artists can tattoo your design or work with you to create a custom piece that's unique to you.
Do you do cover-up tattoos?
Yes. We specialise in tattoo cover-ups and reworks. Book a consultation so we can assess your existing tattoo and discuss the best options for achieving the result you want.
What should I do before my appointment?
To get the best experience:
- Eat a good meal beforehand.
- Stay well hydrated.
- Get a good night's sleep.
- Avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours.
- Wear comfortable clothing that allows easy access to the tattoo area.
How do I look after my new tattoo?
Your artist will explain the aftercare process before you leave. In general:
- Leave your bandage on for the recommended time.
- Wash gently with fragrance-free soap.
- Apply a thin layer of the recommended aftercare product.
- Avoid swimming, direct sunlight and picking at your tattoo while it heals.
Following the correct aftercare is essential for the best healed result.
Do you tattoo anyone under 18?
No. By law, you must be 18 years or older to get tattooed. Valid photo identification is required for every appointment.
Do you offer Afterpay?
Yes. We offer Afterpay, making it easier to spread the cost of your tattoo into manageable payments.
Can I bring someone with me?
You're welcome to bring one support person where space allows. During busy periods, we may ask additional guests to wait outside to ensure a comfortable environment for everyone.
What if I need to reschedule my appointment?
If you need to reschedule, please contact us as soon as possible. Providing enough notice allows us to transfer your deposit and offer your appointment time to another client.
How long does a tattoo take?
Every tattoo is different. Small tattoos may take less than an hour, while larger custom pieces can require multiple sessions. Your artist will provide a time estimate during your consultation.
Is your studio hygienic?
Absolutely. We maintain strict hygiene standards using single-use needles, hospital-grade sterilisation practices and high-quality equipment. Your health and safety are always our highest priority.
